tilt
Design studio Ready For Take Of asked me to contribute to the identity they have been making for CoSpirit, a project by TILT, which is a department of Tilburg University. CoSPIRIT focuses on activities that provide scientific researchers with necessary experiences and insights into the use of science in policymaking. To start off with, I made the logo for the CoSpirit project in general. The diamond and square shapes represent ‘policy’ and ‘science’, and are derived from the logo of Tilburg University, representing CoSpirit/Tilt as part of that. At the point where these two shapes overlap—where science becomes part of policy—not only does a new plane emerge, but something visually compelling happens as well. Perspective, color gradation, form, movement, and perhaps even more come into being. This shows that the application of science in policy is not just a simple sum, but truly creates added value. Next to that I am providing illustrations for covers of ’Strategic Reflections’, essay’s on the use of science in policy making treating the theme from different perspectives such as the labour market or European policies. This is an ongoing series, so more coverillustrations will follow.
